You see it everywhere-Cancer Sucks-if that’s not the biggest understatement I’ve seen, I don’t know what is. Cancer causes patients unbearable pain, illness, sleepless nights, and a vast array of side effects. Additionally, it succumbs them to the heavy burden of medical bills, prescription payments, and relentless battles with insurance companies.
-All of this stacked on top everyday expenses and stress-
To those of you who have met my dad, Steve Elonich, you know he means the world to so many. To those of you who haven’t, he is selfless, hardworking, and a huge pain in the butt. Despite his “sass”, as we will call it, he is the rock for his family, friends, and co-workers.
Unfortunately, in May of this year he was diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer. The news was unexpected and a shock to all of us. He has had a roller-coaster ride thus far, from unexpected surgeries to added complications twist and turns, ups and downs-but he is staying STRONG! Our family is closer than ever, and we are determined to do whatever it takes to beat this-so here we are, asking for help.
It’s not in my dad’s nature to ask for help-especially of the monetary kind, but we want him to be able to heal without the constant stress and strain of bills. I know the fear of not being able to pay for his treatments, the cost of future surgeries, and deductibles is weighing heavily on all of our minds, but especially his.
