Fighting for Fredrick
They say when it rains it pours...... My grandpa, Fredrick Woodson is experiencing the biggest storm of his life. He is currently battling stage four liver cancer, which has metastasized to the stomach causing extreme pain. This is his second battle with cancer, he previously beat colon cancer about a decade ago, proving that he is truly a fighter.
In the mist of fighting this new battle the love of his life, his wife, mother of his four children and best friend for over 50 years, Barbara Ann Woodson unexpectedly passed away, leaving a hole in his heart and a void in our close knit family.
The hurt both he and our family is feeling right now is hard to describe. These very real emotions are further complicated by financial issues which has added to our grief. It was difficult for my grandpa and grandma to make ends meet prior to her passing with the expense of his medical treatment which includes chemotherapy, many doctors’ visits and prescription medications. Those circumstances in addition to them being senior citizens and neither one being able to work due to disability would be a hardship for anybody. With the unexpected expenses of a funeral this has made the financial load unbearable.
Our family is in need of both help with the burial expenses as well as medical expenses at this time. In addition, to any monetary support our family is in the need of prayer and this very difficult time. We appreciate everyone who has reached out to send their condolences, thank you for thinking of us as we lean on the Lord for his strength. Any support that you could give would be very much appreciated.
