John Vlahakis Memorial Fund

     On Sunday morning March 29th 2015, my uncle John Vlahakis had a brain aneurysm.  He was on his way home from Grand Rapids.  He complained of a severe headache and then took immediately ill.  He was then taken to Ionia Hospital where they did a catscan.  Blood was discovered in the front part of his brain. John was then sedated and air lifted to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.  They did another catscan that showed his whole brain was now covered and filling with blood. They described it as the biggest brain bleed they have seen.
     
      Since then, they have coiled the brain aneurysm and the bleeding has stopped.  There is still a very large amount of blood on the brain.  He has had no brain activity and been on a breathing machine for 6 days.  His blood pressure is high and he is in a coma, unresponsive.  
      Monday, it has been planned to stop treatment and let nature take it's course. 
     
     John's daughter, Brooke Stevenson, is a stay at home mom with 2 young children.  She will be the person responsible for the funeral and expenses. I am starting this gofundme to help her.   My Uncle John is 60 years old, he loved golfing with his brother in law, spending time with his grand children, and his dog Buddy.  He is very loved!! He is the life of the party, very funny, and he will be missed greatly.

     All money received through this gofundme will go to John's daughter, Brooke Stevenson, to assist with funeral and other expenses.   Any residule funds will be used for family expenses.
