ORU is on a mission to buy new boats!
Oregon Rowing Unlimited – PDX (ORU-PDX) is a non-profit rowing organization, located in Portland Oregon, on the Willamette River. ORU-PDX was formed in 2015 to support, promote, and expand the sport of rowing in the state of Oregon. Our Junior Team includes committed and motivated middle school and high school students from all areas of Portland, ages 11-18 (6th-12th grade).
Our rowing family continues to grow, and with that, comes more opportunities to put more boats out on the water. We might be small, but we have had some big successes in the last few years. We continue continue to have success in the NW region competitions, and send boats to Nationals to compete against teams from all over the country. This past summer 3 of our boats qualified for Nationals in California.
As the rowing community knows, boats are expensive. Because of this, we have a higher goals this year and would appreciate any help you can give. Our hope is to be able to purchase a new light weight 8+, or quad shell. We are also hoping to update the shoes in our existing boats.
We will be applying 100% of all donations raised to purchasing these items for the team.
