Lyla was an avid fitness enthusiast enjoying swimming, cycling, fitness classes which was fueled by her love of coffee. She is known as the 'Cookie Queen' by many of her friends and family. As an amazing mother and friend she was known as the best person to talk with for parenting advice. Lyla enjoyed making memories with her children at the cottage and traveled around the world to many countries to see the beauty of Earth.

Among her colleagues, Lyla was known for her honesty and ability to connect with individuals of diverse backgrounds. She facilitated an environment of trust. As a peer, councillor, and leader, she will be missed, but leaves behind a strong legacy.
