Support of a Dad and Boys Who Lost Their Wife/Mom
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” Unknown
The world lost one of the kindest, most gentle and beautiful souls on December 12, 2015. Heidi Christensen, 45, wife to Jay and mom to Hayden, 14, and Cooper, 12.
Heidi’s calm demeanor, welcoming smile, and sincere compassion was a magnet that drew everyone to her. Whether you were her student or parent at Lone Pine Elementary, a childhood friend, or in her closest inner circle, Heidi had the endearing ability to make you feel as if you were the most important person in the world. She had excellent listening and teaching skills, and always accepted and loved everyone just as they were.
Jay is an insurance sales executive with PayneWest Insurance. While no one is “ready” for a death, Heidi’s family was not prepared to meet the financial demands of her upcoming funeral and the expenses Jay will face parenting Hayden and Cooper on his own. In addition to the service, Jay will need support with weekly errands, cleaning, transportation and care of Cooper, his autistic son.
Heidi was a special educational assistant at Lone Pine Elementary School in Southern Oregon and loved all children. She was active in the local autism community, working closely on its annual fundraiser and meeting regularly with parents raising autistic children. Heidi grew up in North Dakota and met her husband, Jay, while on a summer vacation from college. Heidi and Jay settled in Medford and were married in 1995.
Any contribution you can provide would be greatly appreciated by Jay, his family, and community of friends.
Thank you
