Hi, I've been unemployed since September 2024. The difficulty I've had seems to be that I turn 60 this year, and the political upheaval going on. I'm applying to jobs that I can do, and getting some interviews. That is, if they don't ask my age first.

My wife has disabilities and was working with a state agency to get back into a job, but there was a change in case workers with the COVID lockdown and the new one isn't returning calls after an initial assessment.

Unemployment ran out in April 2025. I'm still looking for work, we got help with rent for May. But we're behind on June and now July.

We reached out to a local agency to get help with rent at the beginning of May, but keep getting told we're "on the list" and will be contacted.

The money is to cover the late rent, and to move in with friends if we can line something up.

Any help would be appreciated.
