Help for Nick!
Donation protected
My Brother was walking home on Canada day when the ground gave way, and he slipped down a bank by the Brilliant Bridge. The rescue effort involved many people and agencies including police, Castlegar Fire department, Nelson Search and Rescue, British Columbia Ambulance Service and Kootenay Valley Helicopters. There were 2 people that initially heard the sound of rocks sliding and then the cry’s for help. They heard this from across the river. One of the individuals then went looking and finally found your brother leading police to his location. Members of the RCMP and Castlegar Fire Department then tended and stayed him until daylight so that rescue operations could take place by Nelson search and rescue and Kootenay Valley Helicopters. Nick was then extracted from the location of the accident and placed in the care of BCAS then transported to hospital. Since the rescue, nick has undergone 2 major surgeries to restructure his shoulder, and ankle. He has a concussion, a broken nose, and of course scratches and bruising. When he arrives home he is going to need in home care, likely lift assistance, wheelchair etc. Everything helps! Thank you so much, and if anyone knows the person who saved my brothers life, thank them for me. We owe him everything. Stephanie Morgan
