Our family has recently received the horrifying news that Duane has non Hodgkins Lymphoma. It was discovered during a routine physical required by the fire department and is currently in both of his hips in the bone marrow. It was initially only in one hip but aggressively spread to the other hip before treatments started.
Duane is father to 5 beautiful daughters, one of which was born 6 days ago and only 1 day after his first radiation treatment which prevented him from attending the delivery. He is often isolated from his children due to the treatments.
The news has been devastating and the financial impact is overwhelming because Duane does not have health insurance. Duane is a licensed electrician that does contract work and has been a firefighter at the Pecan Grove Volunteer Fire Department for 9 years. We have been blessed that he was eligible for grants from the fire department that will cover most of the initial prescribed treatments.
Each treatment costs $10,200.00. Additionally the medications are extremely expensive and Duane is unable to work. He will likely not work for the remainder of 2015 provided all treatments go well and he is able to defeat the cancer with this round of treatments. Tests will be run following the treatments to determine how many more if any will be needed. With 5 children and only my income it is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We pray for the means to make it through this very tough time in our lives.
Please consider a donation to help Duane pay for this series of treatments and please pray for his health and strength to kick cancers butt for good so future treatments are not necessary.
God bless and thank you.
