Cancer Treatment

Hi,

My names Olivia Whittaker, I never thought I’d make one of these in my life I see people making them and they raise so much money for good causes everyday. So here’s my story..

my dad was diagnosed with triple cancer in February 2021 they said he was terminal and stage 4 and they gave him 6 months to live, which as you can imagine our whole worlds fell apart from if you know my dad you know he is a strong guy and he didn’t let it phase him, he sat us down and told us they he would kick cancers ar*e and so far so good. He was doing fantastic, he underwent surgery to have a stoma bag fitted as the cancer was quite aggressive in his bowel. So he is having his treatment which is quite clearly working because every scan he had he was getting the brilliant news that the cancer was shrinking. We was all so proud of him because he was doing exactly what he said he would do, kick it’s arse! He took each day as it came and never let it get him down, he is a solider, he is our hero!

NOW this is where it gets worse on the 5th April 2023 he went for his scan results and he did it again he amazed us because again the cancer has SHRUNK! and the one in his bowel had disappeared so this is absolutely fanatic news so the treatment is working! He left Christie’s over the moon because although he was told he is still terminal and still stage 4 he is fighting with everything he has got and it’s working. So he gets home and the specialist gave him a call and his words was “sorry I forgot to mention to you that your funding for treatment has ended so you won’t be having no more treatment. SO PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU CAN TELL SOMEONE THEY ARE DOING BRILLIANT ON TREATMENT BUT NOW THEY ARE STOPPING IT!!

The only other way is private but it’s so expensive and none of us could begin to be able to afford it so here I am swallowing my pride and asking everyone to help in any way they can so my dad can still receive his treatment! His life might not mean anything to the NHS but it means something to us!!
