Help Save Simba

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. My sweet cat Simba is only 3 years old and is currently in emergency hospital care fighting for his life due to severe anemia.

His red blood cell count came back at 10, when it should be between 31–51. He is undergoing multiple blood transfusions and a bone marrow biopsy to determine whether this is caused by a chronic or autoimmune disease, or cancer. Right now, we are doing everything medically possible to give him a fighting chance.

Emergency veterinary care comes with overwhelming costs, and while I never imagined I’d be asking for help like this, pets are family. Simba is my baby, my comfort, my constant — my Mr. Chunk. The thought of not doing absolutely everything I can for him is something I couldn’t live with.

He still has fight left in him. I saw it today when I visited him. And as long as he’s fighting, I will fight for him too.
