Hi, I’m Laura and I can’t believe I’m here right now typing this for all to see. To make this as short and sweet as possible, we are on a month-to-month lease and our landlord has decided to give us a 30-day notice to vacate our home that we’ve grown to love.

We must now uproot our family with quite literally no funds. I tried to explain our predicament to him, with me on medical leave and Brookes’ employer running out of work for them. Since taking ownership of this house, our landlord immediately raised the rent to $2,000 per month and started charging for the water bill, which used to be included. We have tried to make this work so that we wouldn’t have to uproot the kids, and now we’re left with no choice. That said, we depleted all of our savings, retirement, stock shares, etc., just keeping up with the rent and today’s economy.

We are asking for help because in a matter of 28 days we will be homeless otherwise. Thank you for stopping by and considering to help us. Anything will get us closer to our goal, which would include first month, last month, security deposit, and moving costs.
