For the last couple of years Ive been working towards becoming a Registered Nurse. In May 2019, I was accepted into Charity School of Nursing but was denied entry into clinical courses because the Louisiana State Board of Nursing determined that my transition would prevent me from being able to practice nursing safely. I was forced to defer my application and for the next 7 months I had to fight to have the decision reconsidered. While I waited, I pursued education as an EMT and completed my associates degree in general studies. Ultimately, I won my case against Louisiana State Board of Nursing and was found immediately eligible to enroll in clinical nursing courses. Unfortunately, because I decided to finish my associates and do a semester of EMT training (which I am now a licensed EMT in the state of Louisiana), I am no longer eligible to recieve financial aid because I reached the maximum amount of credit hours to recieve financial aid. I am currently registered in Nursing 1 clinical courses and pharmacology. I am asking for a small donation to help me reach my goal of being able to pay for my first semester of Nursing school which comes out to a little over $4000. Every semester after is about $2000 and im hoping that I can make an appeal to continue recieving financial aid but that might not work out in my favor. If you can contribute even just a dollar and help me cover at least of the cost of my first semester of Nursing school it would be greatly appreciated!
