Hello, my name is Jessica and I’m a Registered Nurse. I‘ve been off of work for almost 3 months now with long haul Covid symptoms so my savings account has been depleted.
I have a condition called endometriosis which causes me severe abdominal and pelvic pain, among other issues. I’ve had several surgeries for this in the past (about 10 years ago), but in the last year or so it has been getting much worse again. I have seen a highly experienced specialist recently and it is recommended to have another surgical removal of the endometriosis. The surgeon uses an out of network assistant which is not covered by my insurance, and will cost $2,500 up front. In addition, I have an $8,050 out of pocket maximum deductible that they will be collecting either all or a portion of before the surgery.
I have the opportunity to have this surgery later this month, but this is a lot of money to come up with. I can put some of it on credit cards, but not all of it.
I’m not generally someone who asks for help, I’ve spent most of my life dedicated to helping others. When I mentioned the large cost of surgery and not knowing how I could pay for it, a friend suggested starting a gofundme. I told her there are probably others who need it more than me, and she reminded me that doesn’t mean I couldn’t still use help.
If you are in a position to donate, thank you so much. If not, I totally understand as times are difficult for a lot of us right now. Any help to put towards the cost will be greatly appreciated.
