Amanda's Battle for Life

Amanda (Bintliff) Voisin, a 33 year young single Mother of 2 boys, age 6 and age 4. Amanda is a Veteran of our U.S. Air Force. She has been residing in St.Onge after her service to pursue her BA at Black Hills State University. She has been struggling with her health for some time with little answers, then 3 weeks ago she got some devastating news,  she has a rare, incurable cancer.  Peritoneal Methosilioma occurs all throughout abdomen growing masses of tumors that secrete fluid. Luckily she was refered to one, of the two, experts in this aggressive disease, Dr. Loggie in Omaha, NE. She made a trip to Omaha NE for an initial evaluation with Dr. Loggie. Surgery was scheduled 5 days following although it was unknown at the time if surgery could actually be preformed.  She made the trip back to Omaha with her mother, Liz Vodicka, and went into surgery on February 7th.  Prayers were answered and surgery proceeded. After 10 1/2 hours and removal of 22# of tumors and fluid Doctors decided that was enough  for this first, but not last, surgery. She spent the next 4 days in the ICU a lot of pain but Today is better than yesterday! They are still not sure after a week in Omaha how much longer she will be there. We are still waiting to hear what her outlook is and what to do next! Most likely, she will be continuing chemo therapy in Rapid City. Amanda has been raising her boys alone for a while. When she learned how advanced and aggressive this cancer is and the extreme treatment she was facing she withdraw from college and her student loans and GI Bill funding was returned. She is needing some financial help with her monthly bills, child care and other necessities for her and her boys. Any amount is helpful and so very much appreciated!
