Hi, my name is Kristin and I am trying to help my amazing Uncle Bret (Woody) get back on his feet. 3 weeks ago he had to close the doors on our family's antique business after 43 years in the Orange Circle and it was devastating for all. Sadly, due to my uncle's health issues, he is unable to work. We are diligently working at getting him on State Disability but are a few months away. He has attempted to keep the shop's refinishing business alive via online/social media but sadly this has not caught on fast enough. A week after closing his beloved Antique shop, we lost our matriarch of the family (his mother and my Gigi) passed away. Everyone that knew my uncle, knew the bond between his mother and him was par none and that loss has had a tremendous impact on his health. On top of it all, he had fraud on his social security number (information stolen from a trash dumpster when cleaning out the business) and fraud on his bank account which is seemingly an uphill battle to get resolved. It has just been one blow after another. We have all dug deep to help him get back on his feet but it is just not enough. Anyone who knows him knows he is the most generous and kind human being out there and would do anything for anyone. He was a staple in the community and would never agree to me asking for help on his behalf but things are getting dire and was not sure what else to do. Any little bit helps and will go to ensure he can get back on his feet financially and medically.
