In December, a family’s world was shattered in the most heartbreaking way.
A devoted single father had dedicated his entire life to his two young sons. At the time, he was spending every possible moment at the bedside of his youngest child, who is bravely battling aplastic anaemia and undergoing chemotherapy — a brutal and frightening journey for any child, made even more terrifying by the reality that he only has a 50/50 chance of survival.
One night in December, after being by his child’s side, the father went missing. Days later, the unthinkable happened. On Christmas Eve, the most devastating news imaginable had to be broken to both boys: their father had sadly passed away.
No child should ever have to receive news like that.
No family should ever experience a Christmas like this.
With their father being their only parent, everything changed overnight. The youngest is now being cared for by extended family — kind people who, despite not previously knowing him well, immediately opened their hearts and their home. They have taken him under their wing during the most frightening and painful chapter of his life.
Due to other circumstances, the brothers are currently separated, each carrying their grief while facing enormous uncertainty about their future.
These two young boys have already endured more pain than many will experience in a lifetime:
serious illness, hospital stays, chemotherapy, the sudden loss of their father, separation from each other, and the complete upheaval of their world.
Alongside the emotional devastation, the family has been left with unexpected financial burdens. They are doing everything they can to give their father the dignified funeral he deserves, while also trying to provide stability, care, and comfort to both children.
Every donation raised will go toward:
• Funeral costs
• Supporting the ongoing care and needs of the two boys
• Helping the family who stepped in during this crisis continue to provide a safe, loving home
If you can give anything at all — even the smallest amount — you will be helping to ease the unbearable weight this family is carrying.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page so others can help.
Sometimes we cannot fix the tragedy, but together we can soften the suffering.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
It truly means everything.
