Help Chester Get Life-Saving Surgery

Hi everyone I'm Bhea, Chester's mom :). Chester is the sweetest, most sassy, full of personality & happiest boy ever! He loves people and will demand pets from anyone he meets! We've managed to keep this congenital disease at bay for the past 4 years with his doggy insurance until now. A few weeks ago, Chester went in for a routine follow up ultrasound and they found kidney stones obstructing his right ureter which is likely causing him lots of pain and discomfort. Without this urgent surgery, he risks having a ureter rupture or loss of kidney function. We were given a few options but surgery is the best course of treatment in order to give him the best chance and best quality of life. The surgery would be to insert a stent device in his right ureter to prevent more obstructions in the future. Unfortunately, we have hit the annual limit for insurance coverage to do this emergency surgery. He just turned 4 years old late February and I've had him since he was about 12 weeks old. At about 8 months old, Chester started to develop UTI's and bladder stones (urate and most recently, struvite) and we've been on a journey ever since! We've done just about everything to prevent him from forming stones from changing diet, medications, increasing water intake, routine ultrasounds and urinalysis. He's had 3 cystotomies, 1 urethrostomy, urethral prolapse revision twice and most recently lithotripsy procedure done back in December 2024.
