Hi, my name is Jenni and I’m starting this fundraiser for Lyla Blanchard. This is a note from Lyla: I am heartbroken to inform you all of my beloved husband John Blanchard’s passing. We lost him early yesterday morning (March 7th) due to complications from a ruptured aortic anurism in his abdomen. Saturday night he was rushed from Kishwauke emergency to Central DuPage hospital where he successfully survived vascular surgery. He was doing well in recovery and had been moved out of CICU to a room late Monday night. All seemed well but he started bleeding internally and at one point his heart stopped. They revived him with CPR but due to the volume of bleeding and his diminished condition they felt a surgery was not an option. He passed quietly surrounded by his family. We are simply devastated and in a state of disbelief.
John had a heart of gold, always ready to help anyone who needed him. A loving affectionate devoted husband and father.
A man who was fiercly loyal to his family and friends.
He had a fantastically twisted sense of humor, always entertaining to be around and loved to talk with friends and customers.
He was an accomplished horseman & craftsmen, he could fix almost anything.
He worked in the family business Blanchard's feed and stable supply for over 40 years.
He was also the co-owner of Royal Carriage Ltd.
I will post details for his services when I have them but we are thinking we will have a wake Friday 3/17 following with a short visitation and funeral service Sat 3/18 in St. Charles IL.
