Saunoa Price Laumua (Also known as “Sam” or “Big Sam”)
July 7, 1968 – May 14, 2025
At the youthful age of 56, Saunoa Price Laumua peacefully graduated from this life on May 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. In the weeks leading up to his passing, he was tenderly cared for by the compassionate doctors and nurses at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.
Born on July 7, 1968, in the island of Samoa, Saunoa was welcomed into the world by his parents, Tuioti Pauni Laumua Fepulea’i and Amelia Asiata. He spent his early years in Samoa, later moving to Compton, California, before eventually settling in Kaysville, Utah.
Sam’s early career included working as a bodyguard for several well-known celebrities. He later found meaningful work at Enterprise and with the Utah Department of Transportation. Sam was known for his warmth, tireless work ethic, kindness, his lighthearted fear of snakes, and above all, his unwavering dedication to his family. He found the greatest joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. Those who knew him will always remember his hearty laugh, infectious smile, sense of humor, and his boundless love.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tuioti Pauni Laumua Fepulea’i; his brother, Michael Laumua; his nephew, Marcus Walker; and his brothers-in-law, Reuben Walker and Ailama Tiatia.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Juli Laumua; his children, Joseph, Andrew, Elena, Lyric, Elijah, and Aaleiyah; and his ten grandchildren: AJ, Boy, Abby, Jojo, Leia, Evelyn, Noah, Jada, Judah, and June. His mother, Amelia Asiata Laumua; his siblings and their spouses: Kirita Walker, Malae and Natalie Laumua, Auono and Lani Laumua, and JoAnn Tiatia.
Sam was a jokester at heart—always the first to crack a joke and bring a smile to those around him. He was a devoted fan of the Raiders, but his love for his family always came first. A spiritual man, Sam believed deeply in the importance of a personal relationship with God. Through his example, he taught us to stay true to ourselves, no matter the challenges.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Russon Mortuary & Crematory (1941 N Main St, Farmington, UT 84025) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. All are welcome to attend. A Celebration of Life/Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 331 S 50 W, Kaysville, UT 84037, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
May his light and love continue to inspire and illuminate our paths as we carry forward his legacy.

**Last Update**
Sam Laumua is a proud grandpa, loving father, devoted husband, and a friend to everyone he meets. His warm heart, big smile, and willingness to help others have touched so many lives in our community. Now, he needs our help.
Recently, Sam experienced severe breathing difficulties and was rushed to a local hospital equipped to handle his condition. Doctors determined he needed a breathing tube to support his oxygen levels and the medical team has been forced to sedate him while he’s on the ventilator to ensure he could continue to breathe as they do testing to determine what the cause is.
Sam is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah, fighting for his life. His condition is serious, and the road to recovery is uncertain. His family is doing everything they can to support him, but the emotional and financial toll is growing every day.
We are raising funds to help cover:
• Medical bills
• ICU care and treatments
• Travel and support costs for his wife and family
• Any additional needs that arise during his recovery
Any donation—large or small—will make a difference. If you can’t give, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others. Your prayers, love, and support mean the world to Sam and his family.
Let’s come together and lift up a man who has always been there for others. Help Sam keep fighting.
