Queen Victoria Annex Elementary School’s
Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is raising funds to build a dynamic new playground for our school and community. Our current wooden structure has serviced the school admirably but it is due to be removed by the Vancouver School Board in 2020 and no funds have been made available for its replacement.
The new Landscape Structures
playground that we have planned features some exciting new play elements including a variety of net climbers, spinners, a spring platform, a climbing wall, slides, monkey bars and a group swing. We have selected equipment to provide different levels of challenge and have included a quieter area with a focus on sensory play. Our playground will have a strong natural feel with additional trees and shrubs, an expanded garden area and an outdoor learning space for our school. Please check out our plans on our project website
We are aiming to install the playground in late 2019. This playground is being built as a social hub and play-based learning resource for our whole community, not just our school, and we would really appreciate your involvement!
The total cost of the renewal project is $150,000. The school's PAC has already raised $40,000 towards that goal with an additional $30,000 donated by the Rotary Club of Vancouver Fraserview. We will be organizing additional fundraising events for the year ahead and we are looking for the support of our community through direct donations to this Go Fund Me campaign.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the QVA Playground Committee through this page.
Thank you in advance for your support of this project. It will make a lot of kids happy!
