For the love of my daughter

A week ago my daughter, Jackie, was on life support.  The doctors did not believe she was going to live and I had no idea.  The hospital did not know how to reach any of her family.  Thankfully, an acquaintance messaged her sister, who let me know, and we were told the horrible news.  My daughter has been diagnosed with anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, stage III.  This is a very rare and aggressive form of lymphoma that was only really discovered in 1985.  She is very ill, but amazingly and against all odds she has managed to pull through so far.  She will be undergoing intensive chemotherapy and a very strict medial regimen.  Right now she has nothing to her name; no clothes, no insurance, no income, and is unable to work.  The one thing she does have is her family, and we are doing everything in our power to see that she survives this and goes on to live a full life.   Being uninsured, her medical bills are going to be incomprehensible.  Like so many stories I've read and personally seen (I work in healthcare), the value human life in America depends upon the ability to pay for it.  The social workers at the hospital are helping with applying for Medicaid, but that takes time.  She will need medication, chemotherapy, and medical care intensely for the next 6 months.  She will also need basic things to make her feel human again.  Some things to comfort her while she endures the side effects of chemotherapy, a wig to cover her hair loss, basic personal items to help her cope, etc.  Any help we can get for her right now is greatly appreciated.  Any and all funds collected will be going directly for her care.  It is very difficult to reach out and ask for help as I know everyone is going through something, and we are all struggling to make it in this world.   Thank you for taking time to read our story.  If you can help, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
