I have always loved to travel, to read about other cultures, and to learn things about people who live all over the globe. It is this passion that drove me to leave my native country of France and study in the United States. I came here with several goals in mind: to learn English, to create a strong link with the country , and to gain the tools needed to work for "UNICEF” or any organization that would give me a chance to be an advocate for marginalized people in this world.
Since coming to the US, I graduated with an Associates Degree from Skyline College, and am about to enter my last quarter at UCSB, with a degree in Global Studies. I plan on becoming a diplomat, and later, a children’s rights advocate. I am pleased to report that during my time in the United States, I have become effectively bilingual, and have an even greater passion for cross-cultural communication, global integrity, and human rights.
In order to finish my degree, I have to pay for this last quarter. As an international student, I am unable to apply for most scholarships, or get loans from US organizations. In addition, my bank will not allow me to take out any more loans, and so I find myself in a precarious financial situation. I am creating this campaign with the hopes that I can pay for this quarter, and begin making changes in the world. With hard work, and with your help, I know I can make a difference in the international community, and in the lives of children globally.
