Move Mountains for Ryann
Donation protected
This campaign is to raise money for the daughter of one of our fellow Nationwiders.
Ryann, who is now eight years old, was born with a rare genetic disorder called Trichothiodystrophy. Trichothiodystrophy has been diagnosed in under 150 patients worldwide since 1970. This disorder has caused a lot of challenges for Ryann and a lot of experimental procedures to assist in her quality of life. Currently Ryann is undergoing surgery to correct her right leg placement that will help her to walk more independently. She will be facing the same with her left leg in November, followed by additional surgeries for her hip dysplasia in the next two years.
Ryann see’s roughly 19 doctors at 5 different hospitals in 3 different states. She has had at least 15 surgeries and 13 different hospitalizations in her lifetime. This has caused a lot of strain on the family, between all of the traveling, medical expenses (many unforeseen), and unpaid time off for mom for care.
Ryann's family feels very fortunate that they have had the time that they have had with her when numerous doctors have told them that more than 50% of those diagnosed have not had the opportunity to reach school age. She is a fighter and a survivor.
The family is very grateful for everyone that has made the choice to join their extended family and cheer them on in this journey. If you feel it in your heart, please contribute to "Move Mountains for Ryann."
Thank you
