Hello,
My mother was diagnosed with a cancer called, Stage 4 Clear Cell Adenocarcinoma, in October 2014. At the time she was living in South Carolina where most of my family and in-laws reside. After constant battle with a rare and aggressive cancer, as described by the doctors, they informed us that the Chemo treatment was not working, and my mother was not strong enough for another round. In search of better resources my Auntie researched Doctors that had expierence with the cancer. She found promising Doctors in Dallas who insisted we bring my mother to TX. After a two day/18hr road trip we made it to my home in Abilene, TX. During the first couple of days all was fine, but my mother was having issues with her oxygen machine, which she is required to use 24/7. We called the Paramedics to get her seen, which lead to her having to go into the hospital. The Doctors found multiple health concerns, including what we already knew. After the Doctors in Abilene reviewed my mother's medical records they also had no answer to the cancer, and they recommended my mother enter the HOSPICE program. I asked if my mother would be able to make a trip back to SC, but due to the amount of oxygen needed the Doctors said it was not possible. I spoke with my mother and she would prefer to be buried in SC where most of our family is at. My mother told me if I had to bury her in TX that it was okay as well, but I know where my mother's heart is at and I will do anything to get her home. After speaking with some Funeral Homes at SC the price to get my mother to SC with services and burial is estimated a little over $8000. The social worker at HOSPICE told me about this website, so now I'm here. All I want is to get my mother to SC when her time has come, so anything, and I mean ANYTHING, would be helpful. Please keep my mother and our family in your prayers. Thank you!
