Hey guys, Stefano here. As I begin writing this my inner conscious/ego is telling me to turn around and find another way. But that's just it, I know there isn't any other way to accomplish what I'm trying to do without your help. My story is one of the many millions of artists who have lost the venues necessary to perform and make an honest living. Every dollar I make through my virtual performances have been crucial for everyday living expenses. I'm so blessed to be able to connect to my friends, family and fans through that outlet. But now I'm at a real cross roads. I believe I have a song that can really make an impact in peoples' lives. And I can't execute it without your help.
Recently, I called home not knowing if I had it in me to continue living in constant worry of what the future in this industry really looked like for me. So I wrote a song called, “Why I’m Here.” At the time I could only see the hard part of life. But this song isn't about my LA struggle. It's about everyone's life, cause we all go through it. It's about believing in yourself. "Why I'm Here" is about looking at the reflection in the mirror and knowing despite how rough it gets you have what it takes to live out your worth. Cause you only find out who you really are when it all hits the fan. Between the pandemic and every other thing that came along with this year - mental health, spiritual strife political unrest - we're going through it all so we can step up. So we can overcome.
Lord knows I wouldn't be asking for funds if I was still on the road with Baby Face. But because of the current state of the performance art world, I have to raise money to film my first official music video since 2013. In an age where visual content is almost as important as the song itself, doing a video would take this whole project to new heights. I've asked a professional LA based videographer what it would cost to make an amazing video with a limited budget. After hashing it out we came up with a budget that at first was daunting but incredibly capable with your help. I've already put down $2500 to get the ball rolling!
