"When a Honeybee Stings" Short Film

Donation protected
Hello to our family, friends, peers, and all!

We are a group of filmmakers attending California State University, Fullerton. For the past few months, we have been working on a short film called “When A Honeybee Stings” written and directed by Daniel Lomboy.

Our world is facing daunting challenges amidst a global pandemic, various natural disasters, and systemic injustices to name a few. While we navigate through a time where our day-to-day is put on hold, we have had more time to look inside of ourselves and reflect on our own humanity. Through our own self-reflection, we discovered that the many struggles we face can lead to self-destruction; the same way a honeybee will sting when threatened. “When A Honeybee Stings” is a film about Joanne (Jo) and her struggle to provide a safe home for her 17 year-old son, Armie Hudson, while battling through an ever-consuming addiction to alcohol.

This film will explore the idea that no matter how hard we try to avoid them: there will always be challenges. We all face consequences. We all eventually have to make sacrifices. We are flawed. But, ultimately, it is the willingness to become a better version of oneself that makes someone who they truly are.

We are hoping that our film will, not only bring awareness to the ramifications of addiction and shed light on how alcohol abuse devastates lives on a long-term scale, but also be used as a reminder that not every mistake we make defines who we are. We better ourselves by being aware of the problems we have: “You cannot solve a problem until you acknowledge that you have one and accept responsibility for solving it” (Zig Ziglar).

We are fortunate to have the support to create a film with a strong internal message from our school and our amazing crew, but we cannot share this message without YOU! With your help, we can spread this important message to those also tackling their own personal struggles during these difficult times. Any of the funds we receive will solely go toward the production of the project and its distribution when it is complete.

We know that times are trying right now, so if you are unable to donate, we hope that you can share this fundraiser with the people in your life as well.

Thank you so much for your time and contribution to this project! Any and all help is greatly appreciated! On the behalf of the entire crew working to get this project together:
