Isaiah Wootton Memorial Fund

“Shy the Fly”

Late on the night of May 14th, 2019, Isaiah Wootton was attacked and killed in his home in Kenya. The ambush was sudden and violent, and left a hole in the world where a beautiful soul used to be. It also left his wife, Phaustine, in critical condition. She was rushed to immediate medical care and we are still waiting for updates on her release/stability. **

This fund will help unite the members of the Wootton family so that we may have a final memorial for the late Isaiah. The memorial will take place June 1st, 2019 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA, home to Isaiah’s youngest brother, Israel Wootton. The memorial will allow the members of our family to reconcile, reconnect, and comfort one another through this unexpected devastation.

Isaiah Wootton was a loving father, brother, son and husband. He was a strong member of the community and church in Kitale, Kenya. After he moved to Kenya in 2012, Isaiah began establishing roots- working with his parents, brother, and the church to lay foundation for a fulfilling life. He fell in love and married Dr. Phaustine Wootton in Sept. 2013, and became thoroughly rooted to the community. Isaiah dedicated his talents and work to God and his family. Anyone who knew him could feel his positive effects- the structures he built and projects he assisted in added to the lives of those around him. Isaiah was an adventurous and passionate individual- he also found comfort in travel, loved ones, nature, shared experiences, and the church.

In this time of tragedy, the ones closest to Isaiah feel the immense pain of his absence. His close relatives include parents Beverly and Gregory; siblings Isaac, Ahava, Kezia, Tehila, and Israel; and children Jessica, Andrew, and Luke. Extended family also includes several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews. Most everyone is spread around the United States, and in this time of mourning and need, we have a shared desire to connect and have a final memorial for Isaiah.

The donations received from this GoFundMe will help relieve financial burden: to pay for airfare, places to sleep, and food for the family during the weekend of the memorial. Every donation matters, and we appreciate everyone’s support for our family during this time of mourning. No matter the size, each donation is a step towards helping the Woottons in a time of need, so that we may honor Isaiah.

We thank each and everyone who donates and takes the time to share this page. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.

With gratitude,
The Wootton Family
