My name is Alayna and I’m from Erie, PA. I am a 13 year old hockey player and have been since I first stepped on the ice at 3 years old! I have worked hard each year to get better and I hope, someday, to play on a Division 1 team in college. My family has supported me and my brother all the way and I am grateful for their faith in me. But now, a new opportunity has come along, and I am hoping you will read this and know that I am promising to make it worth your investment in me.
I was recently invited to try out for the East Coast Hockey Selects, which only fields a team of 17 players with the opportunity for a position on 2 other teams that may still have an opening. There were over 130 girls at these tryouts, which was scary, but I put my best out there on the ice and knew that I could do it.
All of the practice and dedication paid off because I was offered a defense position with the East Coast Ontario Selects Team, one of only 6 defensive positions offered on this team. This is an opportunity to play on an International Select Hockey team traveling to Geneva, Switzerland & Chamonix, France this spring to participate in an elite tournament and educational tour.
Can you imagine! This experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to take my hockey talents to the next level and provide cultural exchanges with my peers from all over the globe. We are participating in the World Selects Hockey Invitational featuring teams from USA, Sweden, Moscow, Czech Republic, Italy and Finland. In addition to the hockey portion of the trip, the team will spend time touring the cities, visiting museums, castles and other historical landmarks throughout each city.
My family and I would really appreciate any sponsorship level you can extend to make this trip possible. I am trying to raise $5000 for this incredible trip. Every little bit will help to make this amazing opportunity a reality.
