"Office Hours" EC Memorial Bench
Donation protected
If an English major at CSUF knows anything, it is that when Dr. Caldwell had office hours, there was a long line. Many would visit even after graduating, hoping to share news of new teaching jobs or PhD program acceptances. Some students would drop by just to visit with Ellen because her kind spirit was magnetic. Others came to her office for advisement on major courses or help with their Chaucer, Shakespeare, or Composition homework. No matter what it was, Ellen was there with open arms, open mind, and loving heart to both students and faculty. Now that she has passed away, her students and friends are looking to find comfort and peace during such a difficult time.
As a group, we wish to raise money to install a memorial bench at the Fullerton Arboretum on campus. The bench will have a plaque in her honor. Anyone who knows Dr. Caldwell, knows she loved gardening. What better place to visit than a garden right on campus? All who love her can sit and study, pray, or just think.
Please help us raise this money so we can honor Dr. Caldwell while also providing a space in the arboretum for her faithful students and friends to find solace. All donations will go directly to the arboretum, including any additional donations received above 5,000.
