Two years ago, my very awesome friend Andrew was seriously injured. While returning to Chicago after a summer chaplaincy internship in Seattle, he and my other very awesome friend Malina were in a car accident. Andrew fractured his arm, sternum, and neck. Doctors set the fracture in his arm and he wore braces on his arm and neck for three months. Since the accident, Andrew has been unable to lift things over 15 pounds and struggles with things like using a knife to cut food and lifting his arms above his head. Overall, he has very little strength and stamina in this arm.
Andrew's doctors recently discovered that the fracture did not set correctly. As a result, Andrew needs surgery on his arm.
Now, listen, I am SO THANKFUL that both Andrew and Malina are alive and continue to be very awesome people. But I am SO ANGRY that our healthcare system is total garbage. It has been a total nightmare for Andrew to navigate this system and deal with the costs of doctor's visits, physical therapy, and surgery.
That's why I'm asking you to invest in this very awesome person's recovery. Please give what you can to help Andrew afford co-pays, transportation, and food.
I could go on and on and on about how great of a pastor Andrew is going to be considering his passion for social justice and his gifts for worship leadership and pastoral care. No matter what I could or couldn't say, though, Andrew, like all people, deserves the best care and all the resoures he needs.
Oh, also, Andrew has a really solid "orans" position. The orans position is basically when pastors look like this: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. That's not an easy position with an injured arm.
Help Andrew's orans position. Help Andrew's arm. Help Andrew!!!
Thank you so much!!
