I have set up this account for a very dear friend, Sonya Brown Amos. A few weeks ago she started suffering from severe stomach pain, on top of that she had passed out numerous times before finally going to the doctor after a week of suffering but wouldn't go due to lack of insurance. When she got to the hospital her blood count was at 4 (A normal reading is suppose to be at 14) She had to receive blood before anything further could be done. They ordered a CT scan which showed a mass on her colon & kidney. On Easter Sunday surgery was performed to remove 12 inches of her colon. It has been determined that she has Stage 3 cancer, which has spread to her kidney & lymph nodes. Sonya will begin chemo treatments in 3 weeks & will also have to have another surgery to have her kidney removed. If this were not enough she developed a hematoma at the insion site (also very painful). She hasn't been able to work since the 3rd week of March. She is self employed & has no other source of income. She has applied for disability but that can be a very long process. If you can donate a $1 anything will help!
