It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that my dear friend Kristina Marcotte is getting ready to embark on her greatest and most difficult challenge yet.  This past week, Kristina was diagnosed with colon cancer.  As you can imagine, this has been a shock to her, her family and all those who know and love Kristina.  

As of right now, surgery is scheduled for June 12th and following Kristina’s recovery, chemotherapy should begin late summer.  The road ahead for Kristina will be a challenge but certainly one that we know she can tackle as she is young, vibrant, so strong and full of positive energy. 

For all of you who know Kristina, you know that she is the first to jump to action when a friend is in need, often before they even know they are in need!  She is a wife and best friend to Collin, an incredible mother to Austin and Jenna, an active parent in the school community who you’ll find creating props for the school play or coaching the middle school soccer team.  She is an animal lover (Moose and Tucker can attest to that), a devoted daughter and sister, caregiver at heart and a beloved friend to so many.  Kristina has a way of lighting up a room with her fun-loving attitude and sense of humor!

As so many know, the financial burden this disease creates can be daunting.   We want to help relieve some of that strain for the family so they can focus on Kristina's health and less on finances. There are always medical expenses that are not covered by insurance and they are already feeling that pressure.  It is my hope that we as a community and beyond will come together to support the Marcottes by lessening the financial toll with this fundraiser.  

Thank you for doing whatever you can to contribute to help them during this difficult time.  They are already so thankful for the encouraging words, thoughts, prayers and other warm offers of support. All of it matters!
