About 5 years ago, it finally dawned on me that there are so many people, children specifically, who are growing up thinking they are unloved and forgotten. It hit me that as I lay in my bed in a house full of people that love me, there are kids on the other side of the planet waking up to nothing and no one and believing that their lives are meaningless. From that moment on, I knew that I had to be out there to do something. To make a difference. To remind them that they are so valued by God that they were worth dying for. That God hasn’t forgotten them. That’s the first time I heard about a school called Youth with a Mission (YWAM) where people get trained and go out onto the mission field immediately afterward. But when my passionate high died down and that dream seemed impossible, I tried other educational paths; so many different schools in so many different cities but nothing seemed right. I knew that I was confining myself to a realistic goal, and I knew I wasn’t happy.
A couple months ago a friend of mine passed away. He was a man who just knew how to love people so well, and with a smile like none other. It was devastatingly hard letting him go. After his passing however, I began to learn about how he loved people in the craziest ways, with everything he had, at every opportunity and it was like he reignited my fire. I was randomly reminded of YWAM and instantly my vision became clear. Now my heart is set on one thing: Orphans. My friend Lidiah and I immediately applied to YWAM in LA where we’ll be trained from January- March and then from March-June we’ll finally be sent overseas with the tunnel vision goal of changing hearts, mindsets, and livelihoods of kids who believe they are forgotten. Those of you that know me know that this is literally everything I’ve ever dreamt of. I am so thankful!
If you believe in this dream and would like to partner with me I would so greatly appreciate your support. Whether it be financially, through your prayers and encouragement, or you know, financially, it would mean so much to me.
We’ll also be updating you guys through pictures and vlogs so you know I didn’t take your money and run :)
