Pat's second chance at this thing called life

I hope you are able to get a true understanding of how amazing my brother in law, Pat really is. First as a son, a brother, a cousin, a friend, a husband, a father, a grandfather, an uncle, a hard worker, a dog breeder, and most of all a provider.  Married to my sister Tina for 22 years, however, they have been together for 30 plus years. Pat is the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need. He would give his last dollar if it meant he could help someone and he would do without. The guy who shows up at Christmas time with the gifts from Santa that your kids wanted and knew you couldn't afford.  The bottom line is he has a HEART of gold! A Golden HEART that has been tarnished and was in need of major repair.

Pat has been a hard worker all his life.  A hard-working laborer.  Every day he would leave for work without complaint or hesitation to provide a home for his wife and children.  He has a true passion for dog breeding as well. Well known to the Olde English Bulldogge community, he is the owner of a small state licensed breeding kennel,  Showstopper Olde English Bulldogges.

Over the years his heart was starting to deteriorate and he was unaware this was happening. Until one day in August while he was at work and he was unable to assist with removing lumber from a truck. He immediately felt weak and dizzy and could not regain the strength to help his crew, with on any other given day was an easy task. Unknowing what was happening or why he felt the way he did, He went home and made the call.  This call ended up being the start of his major open heart surgery and triple by-pass at the age of 48.

Leading up to surgery, Pat not only had to get multiple tests done but also needed major oral surgery. He was told without the oral surgery first, he would not be cleared for his cardiac surgery. Some of the tests included multiple chest x-rays, electrocardiograms, blood test, echocardiogram, coronary angiogram, and many others.

I know this is a difficult time for so many due to the Holiday season approaching but if you could just donate something it would be so very appreciated, he and his family would be so thankful. Pat's separation from work has already caused a severe financial strain on the family.   All money raised here will go towards the tremendous medical bills that are starting to pile up, assisting with the mortgage, bills in the home, and the continuing care and upkeep of his kennels until he is well enough to provide for his family again.

Pat has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Although he would like to be able to jump out of that hospital bed that he is lying in right now, he has accepted the fact that he needs time to heal and get stronger. The possibility of rehabilitation has already been discussed and they will cross that bridge when they get to it.

Just to let you into his personal world a little bit, he wrote this the day before surgery on his Facebook page "They say things happen for a reason. Yesterday was a beautiful gift awarded to me by a stranger's need for my surgery date. I got to spend another full day making memories with my family, my wife, all of my children, and my grandkids. Tomorrow I go in to be rebuilt. To get a second chance at this thing called life." Pat Gorey

Please, if there is anything you can do, even if you could just offer a prayer...... I thank you in advance on behalf of Pat and the family.
