As most will know,My mum fell ill at the beginning of lockdown and after battling on for weeks eventually gave in and realised she needed to call the doctor. She was taken to hospital in an ambulance and thats the last we seen her in person ( 5 weeks ago) since being in hospital with what we thought was an infection ( but feared covid19 ) we discovered mum wasnt doing great.firstly she had a broken back and was quickly going down hill needing lots of support to do basic things, such as sit up, hold a cup or speak to us.And there was alot more going on - shes at the latter stages of liver disease which theyre treating , an infection, and extreme bowel blockage. These things are causing toxins in the body which are causing confusion and mobility problems and seems to be getting worse rather than better.
Brain scan showed enlarged blood vessels which is also caused by poor liver fuction. Which then leaves her brain vunerable. My dad Tony has onset dementia so this is challening for him ( and me) x
My mum & dad have been married for 51 years have been in their top floor flat in leith for 35 years unfort my mum will not be able to return here, and my dad needs more support so we have taken the decision to move them to sheltered housing . As you might imagine alot of stuff collects over 35 years !! And most it will not be suitable for their new home.
I know its a tough time for everyone at the moment and this is a big ask, but we are reaching out and kindly asking for any liitle help people can give financially,only if they can. It would help to cover the unexpected costs of the move ,removal of goods from the property , and some furniture for the new home. We want to move them safely and make sure my mum has a nice home with things she needs when its time for her to come home❤
