Libya Emergency Flood Relief
On Sunday 10 September, Storm Daniel hit eastern Libya and caused two dams to burst, leading to a tsunami-sized flash flood. The disaster has caused the displacement of 43,000 people and an estimated death toll of 20,000. Entire generations of families were washed into the sea, entire neighbourhoods have been destroyed, and 70% of the affected area’s infrastructure has been damaged. Due to Libya’s unstable political environment, the survivors will rely heavily on donations and humanitarian aid.
Please join me in making a difference and raising money in aid of the Libyan people. Donations will be received directly by Libya in the UK, a charity registered in the UK (registration number: 1195527) that is collecting donations to send to Libya through collaborating with the Libyan Red Crescent and the Libyan Scouts.
