Quiqui's Study Abroad Trip!

Hi! My name is Quiqui! When I was a little girl I dreamt of playing college soccer and hopefully making a career out of sports in some way. I played DI college soccer at UNCG, where I got my BA in Psychology with minors in Business and Gender studies and won back-to-back Southern Conference Champions and made two NCAA appearances with my team! After I graduated in May of 2021, I began an MS in Organizational Leadership at Arizona State (ASU) and my career journey. Starting your career journey is tough! I bounced around from a few jobs trying to find out what I liked and then I began working for Sun Devil Athletics at ASU as a graduate assistant, where I remembered the dream I had when I was a young girl - to make a career out of sports in some way. When looking into having a career in sports, I found out that ASU was partnering with the Real Madrid Graduate School in Spain to create a program that emphasizes sports business for students and offers more opportunities in that sector. It is a highly competitive program and I was recently accepted!!
This program will be taking place in the Summer of 2023 in Madrid, Spain. During my time in Madrid, I will be taking a variety of different sports business classes while also completing a hands-on internship that pairs me with a sports business in Madrid. Not only will this allow me to take further steps into my career journey by intertwining it with the sports business world, but I will also be able to visit the Real Madrid facilities, network with the president and other employees at Real Madrid, and build connections with peers who have similar career interests! If you know me, you know that this is a dream come true! Soccer has influenced my life in countless ways, shaped who I am and how I see the world, and has also challenged me to overcome a multiplicity of obstacles. To participate in this program is the culmination of many dreams I’ve had throughout my life and fulfills my desire to transfer the love of the game I felt on the pitch to my professional development and future career goals. I could not be more excited!
The traveling and program fees are large and I would greatly appreciate any help you may be able to offer! Thank you so much for allowing me to follow my dreams and continue to grow as a young adult!!
