Quinta Shiva farm recovery from a fire incident
Donation protected
Hi, we are Anni & Miguel. We live with our three little girls in a beautiful farm in Évora, Portugal, where we develop regenerative activities in the land that we guard, and for the community that we have built around us.
On August 12th, 2025 a wild fire that started on the roadside next to us, entered our property and did horrific damage to the land and to our goods. Approximately 100 trees/plants that we had planted burned down, our old olive trees suffered a lot of damage, and four glamping tents burned down to ashes, with all the furniture inside.
This is devastating because we are in our early years of our project development.
We estimate the financial loss to be between 5000-6000 euros.
We are now reaching out to our beloved community to support us to recover some of the loss. This is important to us, so that we can bounce back and keep developing and sharing our project with others, from Portugal and abroad.
The funds will be used to: 1) purchase native, fire resistant trees to plant in October-November, 2) Design and build better fire safety in the property, also for demonstration purposes and knowledge sharing 3) purchase new tents to host people during immersive experiences and events so we can carry on with our project.
Quinta Shiva is a place to reconnect with nature, where we create and co-create initiatives related with permaculture and wellbeing creating a butterfly effect by impacting those who cross our path.
The help of volunteers and our workshop participants has immensely contributed to regenerating this land, benefiting the existing ecosystem and supporting wildlife showing us how we can live a more balanced way with nature. This is our dream and our purpose.
We are extremely grateful for all the help, big or small!
Much love,
Anni & Miguel
