Quinn Maxine was a force. In her 10 months and 7 days of life, she impacted so many with her expressive face, her sass, and her fighting spirit. Due to COVID protocols and her extended time in the Children's Hospital NICU, there were so many people that loved her fiercely from afar. For that, we are so grateful. There were a lucky few that got to know Quinn. To know Quinn was to know her stink-eye and side-eye glances, her fake sleeping, her gummy smiles, her sparkly eyes, her VERY active hands always grabbing what she wanted and getting in the way, and her strong demand for sweet snuggle time. She loved attention and would frequently "false alarm" so that people would come to her room. She loved a good party.
Quinn was given so much love in the form of toys and snuggle supports from those that loved her from afar and those that we considered her hospital family. Some of her favorites were her twinkle lights hung on a bar across her crib and her "Zaky" arms. Her love of the Zaky arms started early on. Since she loved snuggles so much, we would simulate snuggling when she was in her bed. We would line her little body with Zaky arms, until she was so bundled up and fast asleep. When she was awake, she could frequently be seen staring above her at her flamingo lights or her unicorn lights or her pumpkin lights.
To honor Quinn's life and share her with others for years to come, we will donate Zaky arms and twinkle lights to the Children's Hospital NICU every year on her birthday, December 12th. Additionally, we want to honor all the love and care that was bestowed upon her by providing a nursing student with a scholarship, for as many continued years as we can provide the funds.
To share in Quinn's memory, honor the impact that her short life made, and to introduce others to her spirit year after year, please contribute to the Quinn Maxine Fund!
