Quinn and Zinnie in Indianapolis
Donation protected
As many of you know, Jos and I will be teaching at Butler University in Indianapolis this fall. We’ve been trying to figure out how to make the experience as easy and fun as possible for Quinn and Zinnie. It's a little complicated at their ages and Quinn will be entering his first year of high school. We’d love for them to meet other kids and get a taste of an American education while we’re there. They’ve both grown up in the French system which is quite hierarchical and more about rote learning, so we imagine it would be incredibly rich for them to get a taste of a completely different way of learning. Sadly it seems this is more difficult than we expected. There are no public schools close to the campus and we won’t have a car while we’re there. The only school nearby is a private international school. The school looks amazing and would give the kids a chance to keep up with their French while also learning in an openminded and creative American environment, but it’s prohibitively expensive for us on our artist salaries. Quinn and Zinnie have both been accepted into the international school, but we have not been awarded any financial aid since we’ll be there for such a short time. We're torn about asking you all, our dear friends and family for help. We've never put together a fundraiser before... least of all for something so personal... but we feel quite strongly that this would be an important experience for Quinn and Zinnie. If you would be able to contribute towards their tuition we would be very grateful!
