Quincy's Bone Marrow Medical Drive
Donation protected
Quincy was born with Diamond Blackfan Anemia- in short- her bone marrow does not make red bloods cells . For the past 15 years, she receives blood transfusions every couple of weeks to keep her vital organs functioning.
Good news! A donor match has been found and with all the love, hope, and prayers in my heart this procedure will cure Quincy's health condition and she will live a long happy healthy life.
The Bone Marrow Transplant process (short version):
Surgery to install a Hickman port (central line) and 2 weeks of testing her major organ functions. A week of intense chemotherapy to eradicate her bone marrow. The donor marrow is infused through the port in her chest. She will stay roughly 4 weeks in the hospital taking regimented medications to help her body accept the donor marrow. Once released from the hospital she will have weekly outpatient check-ins at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. To monitor her body, adjust medications as needed, and catch any complications that arise
All-in-all, Quincy and her family must have lodging no more than 30-minutes from either hospital in Seattle for 4 to 6 months.
We are in need of donations to cover lodging, medical expenses, and transportation for Quincy and her family for this 4-6 month journey.
Our intake date at the hospital is scheduled for February 12, 2019! Not that far away!
Funds are urgently needed now to continue covering current medical expenses and future lodging expenses.
Quincy and her family cannot Thank You enough for reading her story and consider making a donation to help her become healthy!
