A springtime "social distancing" motorcycle ride ended up as a very unfortunate accident for 16 year old Tavin Quigley.  He sustained a broken back, shoulder, leg and foot.  He is a tough kid, and made it through surgery having  3 of his lower vertebraes fused together, only to wake up to find out that the doctors were unable to save his leg and foot.  They removed his leg just below the knee. 
Tavin has a long walk (hop) ahead of him on the road to recovery.  He will be unable to work or move around at all for the next year (or more).  His medical bills are covered (for now), but he will need extra money for prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation, etc.

Tavin and his family are not taking visits at this difficult time, due in part to the COVID-19 restrictions, and ask that phone calls and texts be kept to a minimum while they focus on Tavin and his recovery.

A special thanks to all the first responders who helped to get Tavin transported safely to the hospital, and who cared for him throughout this procedure.  We are all very grateful that Tavin is alive and healthy, and especially grateful for family and friends who have reached out at this time.

UPDATE:
     Tavin is home!!!  29 days in ICU and multiple surgeries behind him, and he finally got to come home!  We have received SO MUCH love and support from everyone.  The donations have all been put into a bank account for Tavin, so that he can get back into his "new normal" life.  He will have loads of learning and adjustments to deal with, as well as getting multiple new prosthesis and mobility enabling tools.
     During the time that Tavin was in the hospital, we were able to remodel his bathroom and bedroom at home to make everything wheelchair accessible.  Thank you to all those who helped that happen!  There will undoubtedly be more costly adjustments to make as he gets settled in, which will be easier with all the generous donations we have received.
     Again, THANK YOU to everyone who has donated or reached out in some way to help out or offer well wishes.  Tavin is extremely grateful and wants to personally thank each and every one of you.  We have all learned how big our circle of family really is.
