Hola, mi nombre es María Salazar y quiero compartir un poco de nuestra historia.

Hace años comencé a trabajar en una bodega y fue ahí donde conocí a mi esposo. Con el tiempo nos casamos y hoy llevamos 11 años juntos.

Hace aproximadamente cuatro meses nuestra vida cambió por completo. Mi esposo comenzó a tener diarrea persistente, algo que al principio pensamos que sería un problema sencillo de tratar. Fuimos a emergencias esperando una solución rápida, pero después de varios estudios recibimos una noticia devastadora: fue diagnosticado con cáncer en el colon y en el hígado en etapa 4.

Desde entonces todo ha sido muy difícil. Mi esposo ya pasó por una cirugía para una colostomía, y en los próximos días comenzará quimioterapia. Hemos tenido muchas citas médicas, estudios y visitas con especialistas.

En este momento yo soy la única persona trabajando. Continúo trabajando en la bodega mientras también me encargo de llevarlo a citas médicas casi todos los días y cuidarlo en casa. Los copagos y gastos médicos se han acumulado rápidamente y se han vuelto muy difíciles de cubrir.

Con mucha fe en Dios, seguimos luchando día a día y confiamos en que Él nos dará la fuerza para seguir adelante.

Por eso hoy vengo con el corazón en la mano a pedir apoyo. Cualquier ayuda, grande o pequeña, nos ayudará a cubrir gastos médicos y tratamientos mientras mi esposo continúa luchando contra esta enfermedad.

Hello, my name is Maria Salazar and I would like to share a little of our story.

Years ago I started working at a warehouse, and that is where I met my husband. Later we got married and have now been together for 11 years.

About four months ago our lives changed completely. My husband began experiencing persistent diarrhea, something we initially believed would be a simple issue to treat. We went to the emergency room hoping for a quick solution, but after several tests we received devastating news: he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in his colon and liver.

Since then it has been a very difficult journey. My husband has already undergone surgery for a colostomy, and in the coming days he will begin chemotherapy. We have had many medical appointments, tests, and visits with specialists.

Right now I am the only one working. I continue working at the warehouse while also taking him to medical appointments almost every day and caring for him at home. The copays and medical expenses have quickly started to add up and have become very difficult for us to manage.

With strong faith in God, we continue fighting day by day and trust that He will give us strength to keep going.

That is why today I am asking for help from the bottom of my heart. Any support, big or small, will help us cover medical expenses and treatments while my husband continues this fight.
