Quick Response Team (QRT) — Thessaloniki, Greece
Donation protected
Luca Utterwulghe, Sienna Bertamini, and Hugo Lagergren had the opportunity to spend 4 weeks supporting Quick Response Team (QRT), an NGO working in several refugee camps in northern Greece. QRT founded Casa Base, a safe space for women and children, and the organization's medical and material distribution operations HQ.
QRT provides language, art, music, and sports lessons to women and children from the Diavata refugee camp in greater Thessaloniki. As volunteers, we witnessed the immense power of QRT's work in shaping the skills and nourishing the courage of the camp residents.
Moreover, QRT can mobilize to address crises (new arrivals in the camp, mass movement of people to other camps, medical issues, etc.) in just a few hours. To get an idea of how your donations can help, QRT spends around 25 euros a week per family on food distribution. Funds can also be used to maintain Casa Base's beautiful space, upgrade educational materials (whiteboards, markers, art materials, cameras, etc.), and purchase medical supplies for residents of the camp and QRT clinic.
The refugee crisis is nowhere near over, and QRT cannot continue to realize its mission without financial support. We sincerely appreciate your time and consideration.
