What is Quests for Classrooms?

Quests for Classrooms is OSRP's annual back-to-school community fundraising campaign.

From August 1st through August 18th, our community will come together to raise funds through our official GoFundMe in support of United Way Alberta's Tools for School program.

Every dollar raised will help provide backpacks and essential school supplies to children and families who may otherwise struggle to afford them.

Then, on August 28th, we'll host a special live stream as we shop for, pack, and prepare the school supplies before delivering them to the program. Throughout the stream we'll celebrate everything our community accomplished together and show exactly where your generosity went.

Because every child deserves to walk into their classroom prepared to learn.

Why This Matters

At OSRP, stories are what bring us together.

Every campaign.

Every character.

Every friendship.

Every unforgettable moment.

They all began because someone was given the opportunity to imagine.

Many of us discovered that love of storytelling while sitting in school. It may have been the first book that captured our imagination, the teacher who encouraged our creativity, the librarian who introduced us to fantasy, or the notebook where we first created a character of our own.

Those moments shape who we become.

Education doesn't just teach facts.

It builds confidence.

It sparks curiosity.

It encourages creativity.

It helps children discover what they're passionate about.

No child should miss those opportunities because they don't have the supplies they need.

Every backpack packed is another child given the chance to begin writing their own story.

Our Quest

Quest Accepted

Throughout August we'll share Quest Log Updates, celebrating our progress together.

For example:

Quest Log Update #3

✔ 38 notebooks secured

✔ 14 backpacks funded

✔ 600 pencils collected

Every update represents real children who will begin the school year better prepared than they otherwise would have.

How Your Donation Helps

United Way Alberta's Tools for School program estimates the following costs to equip a student:

- Kindergarten to Grade 3: Approximately $20

- Grade 4 to Grade 6: Approximately $30

- Grade 7 to Grade 12: Approximately $50

Each school supply kit includes essential items such as:

- Backpack

- Notebooks

- Loose-leaf paper

- Binder

- Pencils and pens

- Highlighters

- Crayons or pencil crayons

- Glue sticks

- Erasers

- Ruler

- Scissors

- Additional grade-specific classroom supplies

Every donation makes a tangible difference.

- $100 can help equip approximately five younger students.

- $500 can support 15 to 25 students, depending on grade level.

- $1,000 can help provide supplies for roughly 35 to 40 students.

No contribution is too small.

One backpack can change how a child feels walking into school on the very first day.
