Please Help My Medical Transition

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Quentin and I am a 22 year old trans man. I have known I was trans since 2015. I have been trying to get HRT for years but the NHS waiting list is currently over six years long (the NHS clinic I have been referred to is only now getting to those referred in 2018) and I haven't gotten anywhere. I made the decision to go through a private practice for testosterone, below is a breakdown of the costs for one year:
  • £30 a month subscription,
  • £70 every ~6 weeks for a bottle of Testogel,
  • £15 every 3 months for a new prescription,
  • £75 every 3 months for blood tests,
  • £115 every 6 months for different blood tests,
  • Fees for blood tests (about £10),
  • Any other fees that may crop up, for example for catch up sessions to evaluate my treatment (£160+),
  • Anything I may have forgotten when writing this.
HRT is lifesaving medication and I genuinely can't take a life without medical transition anymore. I have unfortunately upped the goal as the above costs increased since I initially made my GFM. I hope to raise enough for three years of HRT, plus my savings - however I am unable to work due to disability and I am on Universal Credit payments of £727 a month, but this also has to go to food, rent, general savings, etc.

This fundraiser will now also be aimed for my top surgery, because I'm scared in the coming years something else will happen that forces me to avoid it. Below is an estimate of costs from a surgeon I am hoping to visit, Ioannis Ntanos who has moved his practise to Greece but that seems to be cheaper than the UK.
  • £185 for a referral letter,
  • £150 for the consultation,
  • £6,000 for the surgery itself,
  • £200+ for flights for me and one other person to accompany me,
  • £1,000+ for a stay at a hotel so I can be there both before my surgery and after for any necessary care (i.e. having drains and dressings removed), and so I have a decent place to rest in after my surgery.
That's just a quick estimate, I will update further when I have more information or if there is another surgeon I would consider.
Again, part of this fundraiser will go towards my HRT, and part to my surgery and any other necessary transition care. Thus the goal has been upped.

In a perfect world, this would easily be covered by the NHS or would be free, but it's is almost the opposite - it is becoming more dangerous to be transgender every day, especially with the recent UK Supreme Court ruling regarding the "definition" of a woman, and I'm scared. I'm terrified. I don't know what to do because I can't just afford this alone. Please help me.

Thank you again.
