Quentin’s Heart Surgery

Donation protected

If you don’t know my brother, you should meet him. My brother Quentin Minard, who is 20 years old, is a once in a life time person to know. He can light up the room with his smile alone, and the energy he gives off is always so positive. My brother has helped me through so so so much, along with many other people too. He gives good advice, tells hilarious jokes, and continuously pushes forward in this thing we call life, no matter the circumstances. I love my brother so much.. he is my literal best friend, and that’s why sometimes it’s hard and sad to think about his heart failure. My brother has been struggling with this for over two years now when we took him to the ER located in Aberdeen in November of 2017 because of abdominal pain (we were on vacation in Ocean Shores). His heart was surrounded by liquid that was putting pressure on his liver (causing that abdominal pain). They flew him to the UW Hospital where we spent a good 5 days to a week there where they drained out the fluid. The scarring from this procedure is what has caused his constrictive pericarditis. He is stuck with trips to Seattle so often for Dr. visits, swollen, stiff, discolored legs that come off an on, he is on lots of medicine, he eats a low sodium diet, etc. He is under a lot of stress and pressure from this all. If I could take this heart failure from my brother, in a blink of an eye, I would...because HE DOES NOT deserve this. This man whom I am so thankful to call my brother...my BEST FRIEND, is the sweetest, caring, most compassionate person ever...and if you know him, you know for a fact I’m not exaggerating! He will be getting heart surgery February 5th, 2020 at the UW Hospital where he will be getting a Pericardiectomy and will be in the hospital for a week, and then out of work for about two months. I am hoping and asking for donations as my brother will need money for the surgery, day to day items, and to help with the fact that he will be out of work for so long. Anything helps, and please read into this pericardiectomy article at the end of this that is explaining what he is dealing with and what the heart surgery will be. Thank you so much for reading this and any donations mean a lot. God Bless.
