Queers Escape America Fund

We’re two queer women, one a trans bi Latina, the other an Asian lesbian, and an elderly parent trying to leave the U.S. with our two precious cats (a tortie and a calico) before things get even worse. With Trump winning a second term, we don’t feel safe here anymore. We’re exhausted. We’re scared. And we don’t have the time, money, or energy to keep fighting just to survive.

We need to get out. We need a fresh start in a place where we can actually live, where we can build a future, not just struggle to exist. We’re aiming for France, Portugal or the Netherlands, or Spain, and we’re asking for help to get there.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just about leaving, it’s about our survival. It’s about getting to a place where we’re not constantly looking over our shoulders, where we can actually breathe, work, and create. We’re both artists, and we have a project we’re deeply passionate about, but we need a stable home to bring it to life. We need a country that actually cares about us and our passion to see this through, rather than barely scraping by through exploitive labor while dreading the possibility of being threatened by people or the government, or worse.

If we raise more than we need, we’ll pay it forward and help others in our situation. We will do our best to donate and support other queers and people of color in so that they need in this country, whether to escape, to fight, or at the very least just to make it to the next day.

* Visas & Residency Permits – $1,059

* Apartment deposit (2 months’ rent to secure housing) – $2,600

* Travel Health Insurance (required for visas) – $1,500

* Basic security & food – $241
