Rehousing fund 4 Blk Woman after building collapse
Donation protected

On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, I returned home from work expecting a regular evening when around 4:45 PM my fire alarms began to go off. Unsure of the cause, I rushed out of the building with only the clothes on my back, my cellphone, and my completely stressed kitty Stella. After standing outside for some time, I was approached by a firefighter who informed me that part of my building had collapsed and I watched as water gushed out of the side of the building with no clue as to what happens next.

As of today, my building is condemned and there is no solid timeframe for when I'll be allowed back into the building. Although I had intended to get coverage as soon as I settled in, I was fired from my previous job and didn't have the means to get renter's insurance. Because of this, there are so many unexpected costs that I have to deal with and I don't have the means to deal with them.
This situation could have been so much worse and I am so, so, so grateful that it wasn't. I'm trying to keep my head high and my thoughts positive but the stress of the situation has taken a toll on myself and my Stella as well. I have until Tuesday morning to find somewhere for my pet and I and I'm not sure what I am going to do. I'm asking for your help with raising $10K in order to handle food, medications, re-housing costs, clothing, vet costs, and legal costs.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and even if it is just $1 or a share, anything helps and means more than you'll ever know! Thank you❤️
